About This Course
Process Control and Visualization is the discipline of keeping an industrial process – a temperature, a pressure, a flow, or a level – at the value the plant needs, and then presenting that process clearly to the people who run it. This course builds practical competence in both halves of that task. Trainees first learn how a process variable is measured by field instruments, how sensors and transmitters turn a physical quantity into a standard 4-20 mA signal, and how a closed control loop continuously compares the measurement with a set-point and drives a final control element such as a control valve to hold the process on target.
Delivered over a focused 40-hour, one-week timeframe, the course then moves into control strategies – on-off control, proportional control, and full PID – and the hands-on skill of tuning a loop for a fast, stable response. The second half is devoted to visualization: designing High-Performance HMI screens that an operator can read at a glance, and integrating PLCs and instruments into a plant-wide SCADA system with trends, historians, and well-managed alarms. The aim is to produce a technician who can build, commission, visualise, and supervise a complete process-control system to industry standards.
