About This Course

This course takes a Level 3 mechatronics technician from understanding why electrical maintenance matters to confidently diagnosing and repairing real faults on the shop floor. It is built around safe working practice, correct use of test instruments (multimeter, megger, clamp meter), and a disciplined, step-by-step troubleshooting method rather than guess-and-replace habits.

Over four practical modules you will learn to isolate and prove circuits dead, inspect and maintain wiring, terminations, distribution boards and protective devices, test insulation and earthing, and trace open-circuit, short-circuit, earth-leakage and equipment faults to their root cause. The workshop emphasis matches the demands of Nigerian industry — manufacturing plants, oil and gas facilities and building services — and aligns with recognised standards such as IEC 60364 for low-voltage installations, IEC 60947 for switchgear, and NFPA 70B / IEEE preventive-maintenance practice.
