About This Course
Work Ethics 1: Principles of Effectiveness introduces trainees to personal effectiveness as the foundation for interpersonal and organizational success. Over 40 intensive hours across one week, learners study the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey and the 5S Methodology for workplace organization, then put both frameworks to work through practical applications such as a personal mission statement, a prioritized weekly schedule, and a hands-on workplace 5S project.
The aim of the course is to equip mechatronics trainees with the skills to enhance personal effectiveness, manage time efficiently, organize workplaces using lean principles, and present practical projects that demonstrate what they have learned. Every topic is tied to the real habits and disciplines a technician needs on the workshop floor and in professional life.

Personal Freedom and the 7 Habits

5S Methodology and Workplace Efficiency
Bring order and efficiency to the workplace. You will learn the 5S methodology — Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise and Sustain — and its role in lean manufacturing, then identify inefficiencies and plan and begin a practical 5S improvement project in a real work area.
Project Completion and Assessment
Finish and present what you started. This module has you complete the Sustain phase of your 5S workplace project and present it for review, consolidate the 7 Habits and 5S principles, and demonstrate everything in a final practical and written assessment.
